Research

James completed a Ph.D. in the history of New Zealand literary-cultural criticism in 2002, and has worked as technical writer, senior business analyst and IT project manager. His research focuses on the history of literature, technology and ideas. His current research project explores the literature, culture and technology of nineteenth century New Zealand. He is involved in several digital humanities initiatives, including the CEISMIC Digital Archive, and designer and editor of www.humanitiesmachine.org.nz and http://academicami.org.
